In August 2024, the Federal Government announced a funded 15% increase in wages across the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector.
The Y WA is delighted to confirm that we will be implementing this wage increase for eligible Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) staff.
Starting December 2024, eligible staff will receive a 10 percent increase on Award base rates, with an additional 5 percent increase from December 2025.
We are implementing this increase now, rather than waiting for grant funding, because we value our people and their vital contributions in shaping the lives of children in their care.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Tim McDonald said, "We are proud to be leading the way in supporting the ECEC workforce and giving educators the recognition they deserve without delay".
